Yesterday was Mother’s day in the United Kingdom and I believe in some other countries.  I must say that yesterday was my best mother’s day so far.

The hubby and Bionic treated me to breakfast at Fortnum and Mason. It was really nice just hanging out with my family. The breakfast was totally yummy and filling!

Bionic also made a lovely card for me from her playgroup. How sweet!

 mother's day

After being a woman and a wife, my next greatest blessing is being a mum. It is hard work and can be frustrating at times which I am sure most of you mums are aware of but the rewards are so much more!

Being a mum now, makes me appreciate my mother much more and all the sacrifice and love she showered on husband and her four children. She was a working mum as well but somehow made it seem effortless.

My mum is simple an amazing woman, gentle yet strong, principled, loving, prayerful, peaceful calm in the midst of chaos, a mentor and an example of what a mother should be. I love my mummy and I am grateful for her life.

If I could be half the woman my mum is, then I have achieved something.

Amongst other things, when I leave planet earth,  I want my children to remember me as

  • the best wife to their father
  • the best mum they could ever have
  • their greatest cheerleader
  • a role model
  • loving
  • kind
  • giving
  • selfless
  • funny
  • a confidant
  • gentle
  • peaceful
  • hardworking

I guess I better start stepping up my game on the areas where I am slacking 🙂 Lord help me!

I know mother’s day was yesterday (in fact every day should be mother’s day, don’t you think?) but I still want to wish every single mum or mum to be out there a happy super life.

Mothers rock!

Here are a few quotes dedicated to you mums!

“It takes some one really brave to be a mother, someone strong to raise a child and someone special to love someone more than herself.”

– Lilly

“I never knew how much love my heart could hold until someone called me “mommy””

– Unknown

“A fathers work may be from sun up till sundown,
but a mothers work is never down.”

-Alison Thompson
