1. Please tell us about yourself?

Tracey SokoyaMy name is Tracey Sokoya with the Pseudo name as Traycee. I am married to the love of my life and have two kids ( a boy and a girl)

2. How many children do you have? How old are they?

My son, the first one is 4years old and the second a daughter who is almost 2 years old.

3. What do you do for a living?

I work as an Auditor in the Public sector.

4. Please tell us about your food blog- Tracycees and the inspiration behind it?

Yes, I have a food blog! I love the kitchen environment and it started from a young age. I have a passion for cooking and wanted to share that passion. I was encouraged to start blogging as I already knew some friends who are cool bloggers lol.  Let’s just say I was inspired by what they were doing with their blogs and how much it meant to the readers! I believe every positive impact on someone’s way of life is good no matter how small.

You wont believe it but Traycees Food Fashion popped up on my way going to drop the kids off at nursery! lol. I searched it at the time and no one had come up with the name so I knew it was for me just like Super Working Mum. I though why not! I love food and fashion and believe that food has its own fashion just like entertainment or sports etc. Hence my slogan is “there is fashion in food”

I have recently launched my new ebook called- Kitchen Etiquettes in 6 easy steps which also includes a bonus step by step recipe. You can download it for free on www.traycees.com

5. How do you juggle work and family?

Hmm, all I can say is that its not easy but God has been faithful. As a Christian, I believe God has helped me to be who I am by His grace. I am not perfect and no one is. There are smooth paths and rough paths but to God be the Glory! I am also part of this amazing Super Working Mum group which I know has contributed immersely to the way I see myself as a woman, wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece etc lol

6. What form of childcare do you use?

I stayed at home for the first year of their development before they started nursery. However I have a strong family network and both my mum and siblings support where possible when we need they.

7. What discipline methods do you use with your children at home?

I try to imbibe in them the importance of being children of God and try to give them an element of responsibility and independence even at their young age (under supervision) of course lol. If certain privileges are taken away because they have not behaved, I try to explain the reasons especially to the 4 year old. The naughty corner is used occasionally and they can also get a bit of spanking or time out if necessary.

8. Do you experience working mum guilt sometimes? How do you deal with it?

I remember we had a session on this in the Inner Circle sometime ago. I used to feel that guilt but not any more as I have realised that it is both in my interest and that of the family that I have a break now and again. That bit was trashed out at home and I think we are all on the same page

9. What advice do you have for working mums with young children to achieve a stressed free/organised life?

Ok I have personally realised that putting God first in my list of priorities has kind of made my life less stressful. This is not to say that I don’t get stressed but somehow God enables me to manage that stress!. Then listing my day’s or week’s tasks ahead of time gets my mind prepared even if i don’t meet certain deadlines, I know the work will get done! Enjoy your home, your marriage and your children, its so important for our sanity! Finally pray everyday, keep moving, keep up the focus no matter how tough and just keep making things happen 🙂 (those are the words I use on my posts and the facebook group) 🙂
