1. Please tell us about yourself?

Tolulope AdegbiteI am a wife to a fabulous man and a mother to two blessed children. I am also a  believer. I was born thirty + years ago 🙂 and I live in Lagos, Nigeria.

I am an online entrepreneur and I run a business that I am absolutely passionate  about; Kiddies Treasures. It was born out of my passion for babies and toddlers and  everything that concerns them.

2. How many children do you have? How old are they?

I have two children, a 3 year old and an 18 month old

3. What do you do for a living?

I meet the needs of babies and toddlers. I run Kiddies Treasures; a baby and toddler business.

4. Please tell us about Kiddies Treasures and the inspiration behind starting it?

Kiddies Treasures is a one stop shop for all newborn, baby and toddler needs that promises to meet the needs of expectant parents and parents of little children with fabulous products at incredible prices, with convenient shopping and quick delivery to their preferred location.

We supply essentials such as cots, bedding, blankets, bibs, sterilisers, caps, accessories and playthings such as entertainers, rattles, soft toys, playgyms, walkers and swings etc. We supply items that are purpose based and make life easier for parents.

The business started in 2011 after I had my first child. I did so much research trying to shop for my unborn baby and I totally enjoyed it. I went from website to website, comparing products etc. This is part of our niche, we would never sell a product with bad reviews. I was also at a point where I was trying to change career focus and since I love children and everything that concerns them, it was a natural next step.

My husband and I agreed it was the way to go and Kiddies Treasures was birthed. I would say my inspiration was getting pregnant and my husband who also pointed out to me that I could do it for work.

5. How do you juggle working from home and two toddlers?

We all have a routine, it’s the only way to do it (for me). I get most of my work done, when the children are taking a nap or when my older child is at preschool. I also work at night when they are in bed. Sometimes I work ‘around them’.

I give them activities that need my supervision but not my full presence and I take a break every now and then to give them some much needed attention. Sometimes the routine flies out the window but it’s a work in progress. We keep improving our routine.

6. Share with us what a typical day is like in your household.

A typical weekday I wake up and read my bible, pray, take a shower before the children wake up or sometimes I take a shower and get dressed while they are having breakfast. After that, dress up time and then I do the school run where I drop my older child at his preschool. Usually my daughter accompanies me on the school run.

By 8:30- 8:45, I am back home. She is set up with an activity of her own, and she is soon ready for a nap. My laptop comes out and I sit down with it, sometime in-between I get to eat breakfast. I do the school run around 1 o clock again and then set the older one for a nap if there are no activities to go to. This is also like a break time for me. Sometimes when there is no nap, we just spend time reading, goofing around etc till they are tired, I keep getting work done in-between. I also get some work done after they have gone to bed.

7. Choose one- reading a book or watching a movie?

This would depends on my mood. If I have a lot of time, yes a book, sometimes it is a movie. I guess it’s half and half for me.

8.  What super skills do you think every working mum should have?

I think every working mum needs to have a good relationship with God, must also be able to prioritise. Time management is also very key, oh and yes multitasking is a must have.
